The Kogi State Government under the aegis of the Ministry of Transportation has restricted commercial tricycles and motorcycles popularly known as Okada, from plying the highways.

The decision was reached on Saturday, after an exhaustive deliberation by the Ministry of Transportation in a stakeholders’ meeting, while addressing the issue of incessant accidents and the need for free flow of traffic on roads.

This is in tandem with the policy of the Ministry to strategize and map out plans and programs to ensure smooth operations by road users and the safety of commuters.

The meeting came up with the following communiqués aimed at ensuring sanity, safety and security of road users and commuters.

"Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN) have been requested to submit the comprehensive list of all Tricycle operators with details of their bio-data to the Ministry on or before 4th February 2022 for a database.
