Kwara Government has reiterated its readiness to uplift the vulnerable and downtrodden in the state to bring them back on their feet to improve the economic development of the State.

This was contained in a statement by the Chairperson State Steering Committee, Honorable Commissioner for Finance, Oyeyemi Florence Olasumbo during a visit by World Bank/FG team to evaluate the State Government's performance on NG-CARES implementation in the State.

Olasumbo noted that the state government provided initial grants for NG-CARES implementation to takeoff before the World Bank advance fund.

She noted that the fund is set to accelerate the impacts of NG-CARES on the people and firms affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier, the Task Team Lead of the World Bank Prof. Foluso Okunmadewa lauded the State Government for its noticeable results in the implementation of the scheme, adding that Kwara is the second State to be visited in the Federation after Lagos.
