Kwara Government Restates Commitment To Timely Immunization

 Kwara State Government has restated its commitment to the provision of quality healthcare delivery through timely immunization.

Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Kayode Alabi stated this on Tuesday, at a meeting with the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (U.S. CDC) and Kwara State Primary Healthcare Development Agency.

Speaking on the ongoing COVID-19 immunization, the Deputy Governor stated that the turnout is impressive but below expectations. 

He appealed to Kwarans to avail themselves of the vaccine, saying that it is crucial to halting the spread of the virus.

Earlier in her remarks, the director of immunization (U.S. CDC), Dr Omotayo Bolu said the team is in Kwara State to support the upcoming polio outbreak responses and COVID-19 vaccination efforts.

In her address, the executive secretary of the Kwara State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Nusirat Elelu noted with joy that the state is one of the first states alongside Adamawa, to benefit from the support of the  (U.S. CDC).
