The lawmaker representing Patigi Constituency in Kwara State House of Assembly, Ahmed Rufai, is dead.
Rufai died at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital in the early hours of Tuesday.
According to a statement signed by Ibrahim Sheriff, the Special Assistant on Media to the Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Salihu Danladi, "the unexpected situation was a rude shock".

“This is an unexpected situation that caught us in a rude shock, but unfortunately, the Almighty deprived us of the power to reverse such a sad occurrence.”
