Chairman of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC), Otunba Segun Oladitan has assured residents of the state that local government elections will hold as planned.
OSIEC had fixed October 15 for the conduct of the local government election in the state.
According to Otunba Oladitan, while featuring on a radio current affair programme on Thursday in Osogbo, no court order is prohibiting the commission from conducting the elections.
When asked how many political parties are participating in the Saturday election, Otunba Oladitan said only one party is ready for the exercise.
He, however, vowed to declare winners of the elections by Sunday, a day after the conduct of the elections
