The Dubai Air Show has revealed the Lufthansa’s Explorer VIP aircraft stunning luxury concepts meant to mimic the outstanding capabilities of explorer superyachts for the rich.

The incredible aircraft features a dining room with a wooden floor that can convert into a flying disco. The furniture moves and electrically driven columns retractable into the floor when not in use.

The Explorer concept of these ultra-sophisticated private jets is on a different level compared to what you have heard or seen. The wide-body aircraft was designed for those who want to explore the world in ultimate luxury.

The company got the idea for Explorer at the Monaco Yacht Show. At the most recent edition of that event in September, Lufthansa Technik provided a “sneak peek” of its offering to what it considers to be an “upcoming market.” Now the company is displaying the concept at the Dubai Airshow.

Lufthansa’s Explorer VIP aircraft has a two-level design based on an Airbus A330 platform, it displays the main deck with a glass floor so that passengers can view the unique Mobility Lounge on the lower deck.

The aviation company in cooperation with Brabus plans to create an explorer airplane that would be able to fly its guests anywhere in the world while also doubling as a base camp for further adventures on land all – the jet will carry several luxury adventure vehicles onboard, much like a superyacht.

The aviation company wanted to create an explorer airplane that would be able to fly its guests anywhere in the world while also doubling as a base camp for further adventures on land. Once they get to their destinations, the passengers can take one of the vehicles onboard for a ride or relax and enjoy the spectacular view from the aircraft’s veranda.

The Explorer cabin also unveils an innovative large-scale projection system that extends across most of the cabin ceiling. Pictures or video projections can make the ceiling look like a city skyline or give you the impression of being under the sea with whales swimming above you, for instance.

To achieve the effect, Lufthansa Technik installs Diehl Aerospace’s small, passively cooled projectors in the sidewall and ceiling to create a large-scale virtual experience that customers can configure.

The Explorer concept is intended for 12 VIP travelers, but its modular design could be configured for up to 47 passengers. Lufthansa Technik says the Explorer concept works for both private operators as well as charter companies offering adventure travel.

This groundbreaking concept is currently being displayed at the Dubai Airshow, taking place between November 14 to 18. According to Aviation Week reports configuring an Airbus A330 for 12 passengers, with the Explorer concept, will cost a whopping $100 million, in addition to the aircraft’s initial cost.
