The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has flagged off the construction of the Skill Development Centre and Integrated Engineering and Science Laboratory for the Northcentral geopolitical zone in Nasarawa State.
Governor Abdullahi Sule on Tuesday performed the groundbreaking and foundation laying of the centre in Keffi.
Sule disclosed that the aim is set at training and developing middle-level manpower with a focus on employability in selected occupational areas.
He further noted this would provide and improve training standards and ensure that the right technical and vocational skills needed by local industries are available.
The Executive Vice-chairman/Chief Executive of NASENI, Prof. Mohammed Sani Haruna, said the centre would empower and create jobs for the people of the state, and help Nigeria “to leapfrog into the fourth industrial revolution.”
