NGO, German Embassy Donate Items To Lagos School

Glowing Splints Development Initiative (GSDI), a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in collaboration with the German Embassy donated pieces of furniture and items to African Church Primary School, Ikola in the Alimosho area of Lagos.

Francis while speaking to journalists on Friday in Lagos said the items donated included chairs, tables, school bags, books and writing materials.

She added that the provisions were in line with Sustainable Development Goals 4 and 5.

The Director congratulated the beneficiaries of the items, encouraging them to use and maintain the provisions in the best possible way.

“It is our hope that this facility will go a long way in serving the pupils, especially the girl-child, and lead to an increase in enrolment, retention and completion,” she said.

Also speaking, Gerald Wolf, Deputy Consular General, German Embassy, Lagos expressed delight in the ability to contribute to the improvement of the education environment.

He disclosed that plans were underway to provide computer systems and more infrastructural facilities.

Reacting, the Head Teacher of the recipient school, Odunayo Ogundepo applauded the NGO and the German Embassy for contributing to the infrastructural development of the school and its pupils, urging other organisations to take a cue from the duo.
