Renowned American rapper Nicki Minaj has found herself entangled in a legal battle as she is being sued by West Hollywood jeweller, Roseark Jewellery store over alleged unpaid bills for custom jewellery.
The lawsuit stems from an incident where the rapper damaged the borrowed bling.
In response to the lawsuit, Nicki’s attorney has refuted the claims, asserting that the jeweller is exploiting the situation for publicity purposes.
The legal representative contends that Nicki is not liable for any alleged damages.
According to the lawsuit, Nicki’s stylist, Brett Alan Nelson, had entered into a contract with Roseark Jewellery Store, wherein the store agreed to loan jewellery to Nicki for a public appearance.
The contract explicitly stated that the borrowed items were to be returned within a week and that any damages would be the responsibility of Brett.
Regrettably, the stylist failed to meet the agreed-upon deadline and returned 66 pieces of jewellery late.
Furthermore, upon their return, the store noticed noticeable damage to a pair of earrings and a leaf ring.
A source close to Nicki, however, has informed TMZ that all items were returned within the promised timeframe.
The source further claims that the store only raised concerns about a missing stone after having possession of the jewellery for an extended period.
As the legal proceedings unfold, both parties remain adamant in their positions, with Nicki’s team denying any wrongdoing and the jewellery store seeking compensation for the alleged unpaid bills and damages.
