Unknown gunmen have invaded the Jos Correctional Centre.
AllNews Nigeria learned that the Jos Prison break occured at about 5:30pm on Sunday (today).
According to reports, the prison officers on duty who could not withstand the firepower of the gunmen abandoned their duty post and escaped for their lives.
As of the time of filling this report, no victim has been reported dead or injured despite heavy gunfire in the area.
Nigerian prisons have become targets of attacks by armed men in recent months and the unfortunate occurrence seems to continue unabated.
