Produce Killer Cop, Osun Government Directs Police

The Osun State Government has condemned the killing on Friday of a borehole truck driver by police personnel in the Ota-Efun area of the state capital, Osogbo.

The State Government while condemning the act also called for a quick investigation into the circumstances leading to the fatal shooting

This was contained in a press statement signed by Ismail Omipidan, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and made available to AllNews on Sunday.

The State Government which commended the youths of the area for not taking the laws into their hands charged the Commissioner of Police, Osun Command to produce the killer cop and make him face the full wrath of the law.

While assuring that government would ensure justice is done in the matter, it reiterated that the state government is resolved to do everything possible to protect citizens from actual and potential threats.

In late July, Saheed Olabomi, a nephew of Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdul-Rasheed OlabomI was shot at the Oke-Onitea area of Osogbo and succumbed to death some days later at the University of Osun Teaching Hospital, Osogbo.

Also, on Friday, this medium reported that a man which was yet to be identified at press time was shot in the chest by a trigger happy police personnel at the Ota-Efun area of Osogbo.

The man was later identified as Kabiru Bapai, a rig operator working with Shekeenah Zelter Global Concept who died on the spot, a development that made youths in the area go on a rampage.

Osun Command's Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola did not respond to calls made to her to get a police response on the issue.
