The Chinese national suspected of murdering his 23-year-old girlfriend, UmmuKulsum Sani in Kano, Geng Quarong has denied committing the crime.
The suspect was arraigned before the Kano State State High Court on Thursday and he was charged under section 221 of penal code law, punishable with death.
He, however, denied the content of the charge read out to him by the court.
Justice Sanusi Ado Ma’aji consequently adjourned the case to November 16,17 and 18 for hearing.
He ordered the defendant to be remanded in Correctional Service.
Quanrong was bundled by some members of Jan Bulo in Kano after he was seen in the deceased room with a bloody body and blood-laden knife about a month ago.
