The Dangote Foundation has pledged to distribute 10kg bags of rice worth N15 billion to over one million less privileged individuals nationwide.

Africa's wealthiest individual and President of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, revealed this during the launch event in Kano on Saturday.

According to him, the distribution exercise was going on simultaneously in Kano and Lagos.

He said that the gesture was aimed at supporting the less privileged in the society.

The Africa’s richest man added that Kano would receive 120,000 bags, with the remainder allocated to the 774 local government areas across the country

He emphasized that this donation builds upon the Dangote Foundation's existing efforts.

"This initiative is part of the existing and ongoing feeding programmes being carried out by the foundation to vulnerable people in Kano State which has been in existence for over thirty years," he explained.
