A Russian electric car plant has stated its willingness to pursue rail transport connections with Nigeria.
The plant, Oktyabrsky Electric Car, is a subsidiary of Transmashholding, JSC (TMH), the Russian Rail and Urban Transport.
Valentin Yadritsev, the CEO of OEVRZ, a TMH subsidiary that produces metro trains for the St Petersburg metro, stated this on Wednesday.
He said during a tour of the plant by media from several African countries.
The trip focused on major systems and components of train manufacture given by the firm to the St. Petersburg metro, portions of Russian cities, and certain Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
The excursion, which took place on the sidelines of the Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Form on Thursday and Friday, included journalists from Nigeria, Algeria, Egypt, and Zimbabwe.
The tour's goal is to introduce TMH rail and urban transport production to the African transportation industry.
According to Yadritsev, the firm is devoted to offering a broad spectrum of goods and services, from new rolling stock design and development through lifetime service contracts and digital signalling systems.
“In the context of advancing the relations between Russia and African countries, TMH seeks to play its role of trustworthy business partner and industrial investor.
“TMH is actively working on new business opportunities in Nigeria and will be proud to apply all its resources and experiences to boost the country’s transportation,’’ he said.
