Gunmen have launched fresh attacks in Kaduna less than three days after religious leaders met for peace talks, as killings in southern Kaduna continue to rage.
The fresh attacks have reopened a barely healed wound between the Atyap indigenes and the Fulanis.
Although, the Police Force in the state is yet to give confirmation to the attacks, the spokesperson for the Southen Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU), Luka Biniyat, said that suspected gunmen killed eight people in the Zango Kataf and Kaura Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the state.
Leader of the Fulani, Ahmed Yandeh, said that the some four Fulani natives were killed by suspected Atyap gunmen on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Yandeh said that the attack occurred while they attended a peace conference in Kafanchan.
He added that some individuals were in police custody over the attacks and he'd urged his people not to send any message to the offending group.
