A 37-year-old security man was on Thursday beheaded by suspected ritualists at a place of worship in Elegbele community, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The man was guarding a worship centre when he was killed.
An official of the place of worship first saw the mutilated corpse with the head cut off from the body and the throat was missing.
The Youth President of the community, Famous Egbo said the remains of the victim were discovered at about 5.50 a.m. on Thursday.
“When people saw him, he was beheaded.
"His throat was missing. People suspected that it might be a ritual killing", the youth leader said.
Police spokesman in Bayela, DSP Asinim Butswat, confirmed the incident.
