Suspected armed herdsmen have reportedly killed about six persons in the Kadarko community in Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The attacks occurred in Tse-Abir Azer community on Friday and Sunday, resulting in casualties among both residents and Tiv farmers.

During the Friday attack, armed herdsmen invaded Tse-Abir Azer, unleashing violence that claimed the lives of two residents. Several survivors sustained gunshot wounds during the assault.

Tragically, one victim, Pastor Kingsley Orshase, succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Lafia on Saturday.

In a potential reprisal on Sunday, three Tiv farmers were shot dead, reportedly prompting a counterattack that led to the death of a suspected herdsman.

The violence has prompted some displaced persons from the area to seek refuge in nearby communities like Giza.

The United Farmers Association in Kadarko is appealing to the state government for urgent intervention to restore security in the area.

Efforts to obtain a response from the Nasarawa State Police Command have been unsuccessful, as the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, has not responded to phone calls at the time of filing this report.
