Twitter announced on Friday that its paid service, Twitter Blue is currently offered for purchase worldwide and the cooling-off period for new accounts purchasing Twitter Blue was changed to 30 days.
A huge number of accounts began posing as companies, politicians, and celebrities when Elon Musk first introduced the Twitter Blue plan, which awarded verification marks.
The paid plan's deployment has to be immediately stopped by the corporation.
When Twitter relaunched, they implemented a requirement that newly established accounts wait 90 days before they may subscribe to Twitter Blue in order to prevent this kind of incident.
The corporation has now altered the conditions and shortened the 30-day waiting period for new accounts to receive a social network subscription.
“New subscriptions to Twitter Blue are available globally on web, iOS, or Android.
Not all features are available on all platforms.
Newly created Twitter accounts will not be able to subscribe to Twitter Blue for 30 days.
We may also impose waiting periods for new accounts in the future at our discretion, and without notice,” the Twitter Blue page reads.
The traditional verification checkmarks will also be eliminated starting on April 1 by Musk and company.
Previously, these Blue markers served to draw attention to prominent individuals, including journalists, politicians, activists, and other members of the public.
To receive a checkmark, the business advised individuals and organisations to sign up for Twitter Blue.
Interestingly, Twitter's service for verified organisations has a monthly price of $1,000 plus a $50 add-on fee for each affiliate that wants to say they are connected to them.
