The spokesman of Osun State Governor-elect, Olawale Rasheed has hinted that they want to drag the European Union, the sponsor of YIAGA Africa to court.
Rasheed disclosed this on Tuesday on Rave FM Frank Talk programme in Osogbo while reacting to the alleged report of YIAGA Africa declaring the real winner of Osun July 16 governorship election.
Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), defeating the incumbent governor of Osun, Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with 28,344 more votes.
The Osun governor-elect spokesman said immediately they saw the article of Ismail Omipidan, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, that Yiaga Africa report vindicated his position that his principal won the election they imitiated plans for legal action.
Omipidan had maintained that YIAGA Africa report showed that his principal lost the vote counts but not election.
Rasheed, however, stressed that after YIAGA Africa disowned Omipidan’s claimed they halted the legal action plan.
Rasheed who alleged that a pro APC consultant from Lagos was hired by YIAGA Africa told the organisation to learn a leason from the controversy created by its Osun report.
He also lauded YIAGA Africa for being apolitical and working in strengthening democracy in Nigeria.
