Yobe: Buni presents house, cash to victims of convoy attack

The Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni has presented a house and cash support to security personnel who sustained injuries during the November 18, 2023, attack on his convoy.

The security personnel who sustained different degrees of injuries during the attack were given N1 million each.

The Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Baba Malam Wali commiserated with victims and prayed for the repose of the soul of the officer who lost his life during the attack.

The SSG said the government and people of Yobe will continue to appreciate and reward gallant security personnel who are making sacrifices for peace to reign in the state.

As contained in a statement on Saturday by Shuaibu Abdullahi, the Press Secretary to SSG, Wali urged them to continue the good work, pledging the state government's continuous support.

The statement partly reads: "During the presentation ceremony, Mrs Sadiya Mohammed Maina, wife of deceased Police Corporal Mohammed Maina who was killed during the attack, was given N2 million capital to start a business of her choice, and N1 million for settling school fees of her two children.

"She and her children were also presented a house worth N7.5 million in Damaturu the Yobe State capital."

Allnews.ng recalls that the governor's convoy was attacked by suspected Boko Haram terrorists along the Damaturu-Maiduguri highway in November 2023 while returning from Borno State.
