He was born on October 13, 1970, in Kwara state. He had his primary education at Saint Bridges Catholic primary school, Bachita, Edu LGA of Kwara State. He attended Government Secondary School, Bachita for his secondary education but was withdrawn from there owing to his involvement in fights and trouble-making. Chatta was eventually enrolled in Dende Secondary School, Aggiea, but he had to drop out due to his repeated unruly behaviour.

Although the actor doesn’t have a solid secondary or higher educational background, he has self-educated himself, via online courses and programs.

Chatta professionally began his acting career in 1985 when he joined Joseph Laoye (Uncle Joe’s). This helped him launch his successful career in the Nollywood industry.

He came into the spotlight after his role in the movie ‘Aiyekooto’ and since then, he has acted in many Nollywood movies including Leyin Igbeyawo, Irawo Oke, Akisa, Aiye Dudu, Odun baku, Omin and Awure Eni

As a singer, he has performed soundtracks and numerous commercial jingles in the Yoruba language.
