History Of Lere

Lere Local Government Area is situated in southern Kaduna State, Nigeria, within the North-west geopolitical zone. Its administrative headquarters is located in the town of Saminaka. Lere LGA has an estimated population of about 93,290 (2016). However, based on the 2006 census records, its population was recorded as 339,740. 

Lere LGA comprises several towns and villages including Garu, Maresu, Kadaru, Kaku, Wuroko, Kargi, Ukissa, and Woba, among others.The majority of the population in Lere LGA are members of the Fulani ethnic group. The Fufulde language is widely spoken in the area, reflecting the cultural diversity of the region.
