Wizkid's 'Essence' remix featuring Tems and Canadian singer Justin Bieber has won the ‘Best Collaboration’ at the 2022 BET Awards.
Essence was nominated against “Every Chance I Get” by DJ Khaled Feat. Lil Baby & Lil Durk, “Family Ties,” by Baby Keem & Kendrick Lamar, “Kiss Me More” by Doja Cat Feat. SZA, “Way 2 Sexy” by Drake Feat. Future & Young Thug, and “Whole Lotta Money” (Remix) by Bia Feat. Nicki Minaj.
The award was presented by teen actress Marsai Martin and was received by Miz after a brief moment of hesitation.
Dedicating the award, Tems said; “Thank you, BET… This award is for really Wiz, Africa, and I just want to say that great thing is happening out of Africa right now and the light is on everyone there…
"This is dedicated to Africa and to Nigeria. Thank you.”
