Abba Kyari: Suspended DCP Denied Bail Yet Again

Suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abba Kyari has been denied bail yet again by Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Kyari is on trial for alleged drug trafficking offences and is to remain in custody in Kuje prison until the case resumes hearing in court.

According to Justice Nwite, the reasons brought forward for the bail request were addressed in an earlier application, which was denied.

He then fixed the resumption of the trial for October 19, 20, and 21.

It was previously reported that the suit instituted by the federal government to extradite Kyari to the United States was dismissed by Justice Inyang Ekwo on Monday.

While delivering the judgment, Ekwo held that the extradition request filed by the Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, on behalf of the Federal Government lacked merit and is liable to dismissal.
