Abuja-Kaduna Train Attack: Victims' Families Threaten To Occupy Government Facilities

Abuja-Kaduna Train Attack: Victims' Families Threaten To Occ

The relatives of the 51 victims of the Abuja-Kaduna train attack still in captivity have promised to occupy key government facilities over what they called the insensitivity of the government to their plight.

The bandits previously threatened to kill the victims should the government fail to respond to their demands and just recently, one of them was shot.

After the shooting incident, families and friends of the victims in a statement through their spokesperson, Dr Abdulaziz Atta, stated that they were afraid of losing those in captivity.

One of the family members named Atta whose aged mother is still with the bandits disclosed that they were all worried about the state of health of the captives.

"As it stands, there are no antibiotics, nobody to remove the bullets from his body, just imagine the current situation he will be in the bush", he commented on the person who was shot.

While acknowledging that the government was responding positively, Atta added that the process of release should be hastened as just 11 of their loved ones are out of harm's way.

"We have kids as you have heard earlier on as young as three years old and from the feedback we had, these kids are unattended to.

"We have women injured, we have aged women and men, those people should be brought out", part of the statement reads.
