Actress Foluke Daramola Reacts To Backlash Over Tinubu Support

Actress Foluke Daramola Reacts To Backlash Over Tinubu Suppo

After being shamed alongside her colleagues on social media for supporting Tinubu's presidential bid in 2023, Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola has reacted.

Daramola and other Nollywood stars were recently spotted singing and dancing with Tinubu's name in a viral video.

This got Nigerians pissed off and they accused the Nollywood stars of abandoning the people by doing so, claiming that they are all chasing their own pockets at the expense of others.

Daramola, in a video posted on her page, responded by saying that the event was neither a political campaign nor a Nollywood event.

She stated that they advocated for peace and unity in Nigeria and did not support Bola Tinubu for president.

The actress also stated that while she is a committed member of the All Progressive Congress (APC), she is not a Tinubu supporter and that people should stop spreading rumors.

"Good evening everyone, I have been receiving a lot of insults and horrific comments on my page, what we went to do, maybe I need to set some record straight, what we went to do yesterday was nothing to do with politics.

"We are in a group advocating for peace and unity in Nigeria. Thought I am a strong supporter of APC but we did not go in the capacity of endorsing Asiwaju for president and it was not a Nollywood thing.

If people had seen the people there, we had some Nollywood people there but it was not about Nollywood, so I don't know where this is coming from and I was not paid in any way for this.

"It was meant to be a unity and peace to the campaign, nothing more nothing less, please don't let us get it twisted, it is not about anything to do with the impression people are having.

"It doesn't have anything to do with politics, it doesn't have anything to do with Nollywood, it was a group that we organised for peace and unity in Nigeria.

"Please let's be guided, I beg you."
