ASUU: NLC Threatens FG With Two-Week Ultimatum

ASUU: NLC Threatens FG With Two-Week Ultimatum

As the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) protests the lingering strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the former has issued the Federal Government a two-week ultimatum to address the issues with the striking lecturers.

Agnes Sessy, the Lagos NLC chairperson issued this threat during the ongoing protest in Ikeja, Lagos.

“If the Federal Government does not resolve the strike within two weeks, there would be a nationwide mass protest. In fact, the ENDSARS protest would be a child’s play,” she said

Members of the labour union alongside members of university-based unions, on Tuesday, stormed the street of Lagos to get the federal government on its toes concerning the strike and other issues facing the education sector.

AllNews Nigeria reports that the NLC announced a two-day protest in solidarity with the striking members of ASUU which commenced today.
