The Benue Internal Revenue Service (BIRS) has accused the Nigerian Army of abducting five of its tax officials Monday.
The agency had said that unknown gunmen had abducted five of its tax officials in Vandeikya Local Government Area, Benue State.
It also stated that the gunmen sported military uniforms and arrived at the Tse-Mker Inspection point of the agency in a Hilux van and three motorcycles, storming the BIRS' premises.
It added that a series of events followed preceded the abduction of the five staff members: gunshots were fired into the air, and a staff motorcycle was set ablaze.
