Broda Shaggi Tackles Police PPRO For Saying It Is A Crime For Police To Slap Citizens

Popular Nigerian skit maker, Broda Shaggi, has tackled the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Olumuyiwa Adejobi, for saying police officers who slap or flog anyone have committed a crime.

The police spokesperson had said that the policeman is not allowed to slap or whip a citizen but is permitted to use a baton, teaser or spray to apply minimum force while on duty.

“Any policeman who slaps you has committed an offence of assault.

"No policeman is allowed to slap or flog u.

"He has items to apply minimum force on you as stipulated by law but not slap or whip.

"It's only d baton or teaser or spray a policeman can use on u while on duty not slap,” the PPRO had written.

Slamming Adejobi, Broda Shaggi accused him of hypocrisy.

He mentioned that policemen have been dishing out slaps to citizens, irrespective of gender and age, and nothing has been done about it.

He, however, stated that if Adejobi truly cares, erring policemen should be publicly punished for all to see.

“Oga you go just come on bird app dey yarn dust.

"Your guys dey slap people everyday. Both women and men, old and young and nothing has ever been done about it.

“You are just tweeting all these for nothing bro.

"If you really care, let's see the punishment given to any policeman who slaps a citizen.

"Make una no dey find youths likes and comment like say una dey with us while you take order from those old murderers. Abegiiii.”
