The Panel had in a letter dated November 28 invited CNN to the panel over an investigation it published on the Lekki shootings that happened during the  #EndSARS protest.

The panel asked the news medium to give evidence on their reportage of the Lekki tollgate incident.

Recall that CNN in November released a two-phased report where they gave an account of what happened during the Lekki shootings at the #EndSARS protest.

CNN report revealed that men of the Nigeria army opened fire on unarmed protesters.

Recall that Lai Mohammed who debunked reports that men of the Nigeria army opened fire on peaceful protesters claimed that the shooting happened on social media.

Also reacting to the reports of the foreign news medium, President Muhammadu Buhari said he was disgusted by the way CNN reported the Lekki shootings.

When the panel questioned the CNN lawyer on Saturday,  he reiterated his objection.

The panel then excused CNN from further proceedings.
