Corpse Of University Lecturer Found In Benue

The dead body of a lecturer with the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi, Aondoana Karl Kwagher has been found in Makurdi, the state capital.

It was also revealed that the late lecturer was, until his death, an associate professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the university, and found dead in the late hours of Saturday.

According to the report, his body was found with an injury on his head, and a cut across his throat.

The Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) chapter of the school, Ameh Ejembi attested to this but added that he not have the full reports of what might have led to the lecturer’s death.

The state command spokesperson, Catherine Anene also confirmed, saying that police on patrol found the corpse of the lecturer between 10 and 11 pm on Saturday night.

Anene further stated, saying: “We just saw the corpse at Tarka foundation in the pool of his blood, it looks like he was stabbed with a knife.

“We saw the corpse between 10 and 11 pm, so he must have been killed about an hour earlier.”

Anene said that there was no car around the vicinity where the corpse was found.

She, however, also added, “if he was driving along that area, it means the vehicle was taken away from him,” adding that investigation will reveal what happened to him.
