    In the past 24 hours, the United States recorded a total of 2,502 death from the novel coronavirus, this is according to a tally from John Hopkins University.

    The US has seen a spike in the past two days after a relative ease in the number of deaths from the virus on Sunday and Monday.

    The total number of deaths in the US now stands at 60,853, John Hopkins' report states.

    The US remains the world's worst-hit country with a total of 1,064, 572 confirmed coronavirus cases.
