COVID-19: Confirmed Cases Rise Past 6 Million

Globally, there have been over six million cases of the novel coronavirus, with two-thirds of the recorded cases emerging from the United States and Europe.

As of 8 pm on Saturday, 6,000,867 coronavirus cases were recorded, with a fatality of 366,848.

The most hit continent is Europe, with a record of 2,135,170 confirmed cases of infection and 177,595 fatalities.

The US remains the worst-hit country recording a total of 1,760,740 cases on infections, with 103,472 fatalities.

Numbers are rapidly rising on the South American front, with more than 45,000 confirmed cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases on the continent to 944,695, with 49,230 deaths.

Brazil makes up for more than half of the figures recorded in South America, recording over 498,000 cases and 28,834 fatalities.
