On Tuesday, France saw a spike in the number of deaths from the novel coronavirus, crossing the 10,000 mark.
According to the French government, 7,091 of those deaths were recorded in hospitals, and 3,237 were in nursing homes.

France's hospitals were attending to 7,131 in intensive care units, with a high-ranking health official in the country, Jerome Salomon, saying that “the epidemic is continuing its progression.”
