COVID-19: Global Cases Surpass 19 Million, US Cases Shoot Pa

Global coronavirus cases have hit record-high 19 million on Thursday night, according to coronavirus tracker.

Fatalities from the disease globally is over 717,000, with the recorded cases shooting past 19 million.

The United States remains the country with the highest number of cases, with over 5 million cases and over 162,000 fatalities.

Cases in the US surged past its 5 million cases after it reported 58,611 new cases within 24 hours on Thursday, bringing the total number of cases to 5,032,179.

Following the US is Brazil with nearly 3 million cases and 98,644 fatalities.

Fatalities recorded on Thursday in the US was 1,200, while Brazil recorded 1,226 in a 24-hour period.
