Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has declared Friday a work-free day as the state prepares for the Governorship election scheduled for Saturday, September 19, 2020.
Making this disclosure in a statement on Thursday, Obaseki explained that the state government's decision taken to enable workers in the state public service to travel to their respective constituencies to vote.

“Sequel to the forthcoming Edo State gubernatorial election scheduled to hold on Saturday, September 19, 2020, Mr. Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has approved Friday 18th September 2020 as a work-free day to enable workers in the State Public Service travel to their respective Constituencies to exercise their franchise.
“Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Extra-Ministerial Departments are requested to bring the contents of this circular to the attention of their staff,” the statement read.
