AllNews had earlier reported that Obaseki visited President Muhammadu Buhari to thank him for keeping to his promise of not interfering with the Edo State Governorship election.

Obaseki during his visit to Buhari revealed that the President told him that he congratulated him reluctantly.

He defeated Osagie Ize-Iyamu the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC).

Obaseki who used to be a member of APC dumped the party after he was disqualified from contesting at the party's primary.

He however moved to PDP where he was handed the party's ticket to contest at the governorship election.
