Alex Iwobi
Everton manager Frank Lampard has praised Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi for his ability to play in different positions.
Iwobi has enjoyed an upturn in fortune since Frank Lampard took over the reins at Goodison Park in January.
He has been deployed in three different positions, as a full-back, winger, and midfielder by Frank Lampard, and the former Arsenal young star has been impressive for Everton.
Lampard has now raved about the Super Eagles star's ability to adapt to different roles on the pitch.
“For me, the thing with Alex was to make him feel like he had my confidence,” Lampard told BT Sport.
“Now Evertonians will tell you he was brilliant in the second half of last season and a big part of what we’re doing.
“The beauty of him, which is not the norm with a modern player, if you tell him to play anywhere, he’ll say ‘no problem’. He’ll understand it, and he won’t be upset by it.”
Iwobi was part of the Everton team that played out a goalless draw against Liverpool on Saturday.
He has played in every single minute for Everton in the Premier League this season.
He is yet to open his goal account for the season, but he has become a vital member of the team, and the credit must go to Frank Lampard, who has overseen his revival.
The 26-year-old joined Everton from Arsenal in 2019, making 107 appearances for the club with seven goals to show.
Everton are winless in their first six games of the season, they travel to table-toppers Arsenal on Sunday.
