Fashion ruled at the inauguration ceremony of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris which took place at the West Front of the U.S Capitol on January 20, 2021. From the designers chosen, down to the symbolic accessories worn by the lawmakers and speakers in attendance.

Topping this list is the regal look of the United States’ former first lady, Michelle Obama. The bang, the belt and the burgundy, she served us that classy and legendary first-lady vibe.
She royally stepped out, donning on a monochromatic look that consisted of palazzo trousers, a turtleneck, an overcoat and the statement belt from a Black-American designer, Sergio Hudson who came into the limelight in 2013 when he won a fashion design competition which Rihanna produced.
Obama complimented the outfit with pops of black with her black silk mask, Stuart Weitzman boots and black leather gloves.
No cap, she effortlessly stole the show.

Vice President Kamala Harris made her fashion statement in a purple hue dress and Jacket designed by Black designers, Christopher John Rogers and Sergio Hudson. Harris' look was completed with a pearl necklace, which has been a longstanding signature accessory for Harris.

The first lady was dressed in an ocean blue wool tweed coat and dress by Alexandra O’Neill, who founded her label Markarian in 2017.
According to the designer, in a press release, the blue colour signifies ‘trust, confidence, and stability.’
Lady Gaga delivered a goosebumps-worthy performance of the national anthem dressed in a Schiaparelli couture look with a large sculpted red skirt and a navy fitted jacket. She finished it off with a standout gold dove on the chest which symbolized peace. Her braided crown that looked chic also complimented her outfit.
Alongside her power-packed performance at the Inaugural ceremony, she held everyone’s attention with her breathtaking all-white Chanel outfit which comprises of a sheer ruffle top, flared trousers and a matching overcoat – all in suffragette white. The pop-star also elevated her look with her flawless makeup and hairstyle.
Gorman made history as the youngest inaugural poet when she delivered her original poem ‘The Hill We Climb’ on Wednesday morning. She dressed for the moment in a head-to-toe Prada outfit. It featured a sunny yellow double-breasted jacket, a black leather skirt, a white poplin shirt and black leather pumps. Her eye-catching red satin headband cannot be missed.
The earring she wore was a gift from Oprah Winfrey while her ring is a tribute to Maya Angelou.
