In a recent interview, Afropop singer and songwriter, Reekado Banks, took a direct swipe at his colleague, Wizkid.
Speaking with F word Magazine, the former mavin star was asked by the interviewer why he didn’t include his song with Wizzy in his ‘Off the Record' EP. In his response, Reekado Banks claimed that he totally forgot about the song.
He said, “Cos I forgot about it. I don’t know what that is man. But yeah, the Wizkid one I totally forgot about it already. And the Burna Boy one was… I don’t know that time, I thought it was going to be fun to, you know, get on and just vibe like everybody else was but obviously, he wasn’t having it and he made it clear. And now we’ve moved past that. And it’s just fine.”
Reekado BanksThis took us back to when Wizkid called Reekado Banks a clout animal for attempting to drop a single amidst nationwide protest against Special Weapons and Tactic (SWAT), a unit set up to replace the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in October 2020.
AllNews reported that Reekado Banks took to Twitter to announce that "Gbedu must drop" as he would be dropping "Omo Olomo" featuring Wizkid.
Responding, Wizkid said it was wrong for him to drop the single amidst the protests. "Delete this dude ! Can’t believe you’re even doing this at a time like this. Old song ! #endsars fool!"
In another tweet that has since been deleted, Wizkid addressed his fellow singer as "clout animal".
