I Was Attacked By Herdsmen - Ortom

Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, said that his farm in Markudi was invaded by armed Fulani herdsmen who shot at him and some of his livestock guards.

According to the governor, the situation was defused after he called the attention of the troops of the Operations Whirl Stroke. He made this assertion on a radio show on Radio Benue,

Ortom said that the Fulani herdsmen came armed with sophisticated weapons.

He said, "I was on my farm within Makurdi town last week when some herdsmen shot at me and shot the livestock guards who were on the farm.

"I have to inform the Operation Whirl Stroke before the herdsmen ran away.
