Insurgency: US To Combat Boko Haram, Other Terrorist Groups

The Secretary of States to the United States Mike Pompeo has revealed that his country will use all equpment it posseses to help defeat Boko Haram, other terrorist groups in Nigeria and West Africa at large.

Pompeo who made this promise via his official twitter handle after a meeting of the Global Coalition to Defeat the Islamic State  revealed that a great progress was made at the meeting tailored towards the defeat of terrorism in West Africa.

The virtual meeting which was made up of 82-member global coalition led by the US expressed their readiness to work towards the defeat of Boko Haram, ISIS and other insurgent group in the West African region.

“Great progress was made at yesterday (Tuesday)’s virtual Global @Coalition to Defeat ISIS meeting on West Africa. We will use all tools at our disposal to counter ISIS and its affiliates anywhere in the world. My thanks to Nigeria for co-hosting the event,” Pompeo tweeted.

It will be recalled that Sub- Saharan region have in recent times experienced series of  insurgency attacks, with Nigera battling Boko Haram and a few other West African countries battling with frequent ISIS attacks.
