January Transfer: Sokratis On Arsenal Transfer List After Saliba's Move

January Transfer: Sokratis On Arsenal Transfer List After Sa

Arsenal are offloading their team to create space for younger players. They are getting some huge earners off their books in this COVID-19 economically tricky period and Sokratis Papastathopoulos finds himself on the club's transfer list.

Arsenal has been able to offload Saliba and Sead Kolasinac on loan to Nice and Schalke 04 respectively.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos 32, joined Arsenal in 2018 after over 5 years at the heart of Borussia Dortmund's backline, scoring 7 goals in over 130 appearances for the Signal Iduna Park.

Genoa and Fenerbahçe are interested in the Greek player's signature as he is a beast in defence when he is fully fit and ready to go.

Nothing concrete yet, but according to transfer journalist and expert Fabrizio Romano, he will be leaving in the coming weeks

He has scored 3 goals in 44 appearances for Arsenal since 2018, winning the FA Cup and FA Community Shield.

It remains to be seen if his transfer will be permanent or like that of Kolasinac and Saliba but considering his age, Arsenal might just count their losses and get him moving.
