Kano fire service truck during one of it's response to a fire incidence in the state
Kano State Fire Service says it has saved 135 lives and properties worth N34.6 million from fire incidences in June 2022.
In a statement issued by the service's public relations officer, Saminu Abdullahi in Kano on Sunday morning, it noted that 24 people were however lost while properties worth N13 million were estimated to have been destroyed during the period.
According to him, the service responded to 77 rescue calls and 17 false alarms from residents of the state.
The spokesperson attributed the fires to the careless use of sub-standard electrical appliances.
He advised the general public to handle fire with care to avoid inferno, as the Sallah celebrations approach.
Abdullahi also urged them to abide by traffic laws to avoid road accidents during the celebrations.
