Benue State Police Command said it arrested no fewer than eighty-three cultists and criminals across the state following a cracked down of some black spots during the festive period.

Cholera has reportedly killed at least 10 people in Agatu and Guma councils of Benue State.
According to The Guardian, in Obagaji, headquarters of Agatu, seven people were recently confirmed dead, while in Abinsi, a community in Governor Samuel Ortom’s Guma Council, three children were said to have died of the disease. Read more here.
An 18-year-old girl, name withheld, has been apprehended by the police after allegedly setting her boyfriend ablaze after a quarrel in the Wadata area of Makurdi, Benue State.

To check the increasing cases of armed robbery, kidnapping and banditry in the state, Benue State Security Council has imposed a curfew on Ukum and Katsina-Ala Local Government Areas. The curfew would be effective from 8 pm to 6 am daily.
