Manchester United Target, Jadon Sancho; Another Youngster For Sale In Borussia Dortmund Treasure Chest

Manchester United Target, Jadon Sancho; Another Youngster Fo

Manchester United top transfer target, Jadon Sancho is on the verge of signing a deal away from Borussia Dortmund for 5-years worth over £100M but due to the coronavirus economic impact on club could be paid in instalments or as add-ons which is the same as in the case of Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele.

Dortmund over the years has been a treasure house which most clubs have been feasting from taking it back to the days of Shinji Kagawa, IIkay Gundogan, Robert Lewandowski, Ousmane Dembele, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Hummels (though back with them), Henrick Mkhitaryan, Christian Pulisic,  and now Jadon Sancho and maybe in the future Erling Haaland.

The German club, Borussia Dortmund has always sold their stars be it to fellow German rival, Bayern Munich like Hummels and Lewandowski or to other clubs outside Germany like Barcelona, Manchester United and Chelsea.

The astonishing part of the deal is that the upbringing of these players cost them little to nothing, like the present matter of Jadon Sancho, he was bought from Manchester City U18 for £8M and now could be sold for over £100M plus add-ons or in whatever deal they are orchestrating with the Manchester Club.

The most interesting thing about them which many football enthusiasts have found thrilling is the replacement of such players after a while. Usually, when clubs sell, they need to use that money to buy new players but that is not always the case with Borussia Dortmund they usually bought or have the replacement for such players already in the team or in their youth team or on loans or worse yet in talks with one.

Presently in the team, there are few replacements to the 20-year old English player such as Thorgan Hazard, Julian Brandt,

Thorgan Hazard

Thorgan Hazard is capable of dribbling in, shooting from afar, he is also familiar with the German league which he has played in for some years now since signing with Mochengladbach from Chelsea back in 2015. He joined Dortmund last summer and has since scored 7 goals with 14 assists in all competition.

He is a fast and pacey player who is a threat on the counter-attack, good with set pieces, finishes well. He is not much of a dribbler but he can do one or two footwork himself. No one knows Jadon Sancho when Ousmane Dembele was still at Dortmund cause all the things Sancho is doing now was formally done by the Frenchman. Not until he left, Sancho rose to the fur, same could happen for Thorgan too.

Julian Brandt

The German 24-year old was a sensation at Wolfsburg, Bayer Leverkusen before joining Dortmund and he can operate on the left wing with his right foot, he is a very good dribbler too and capable of running at defenders especially spear-heading a counter-attack. Both Hazard and Brandt were brought in last season which could be because they have anticipated the sales of Jadon Sancho. Brandt had scored 7 goals this season with 12 assists in 42 appearances for Borussia Dortmund.

These two youngsters are no strangers to the Bundesliga and we could see those numbers of goals rising high with the start of the German Bundesliga on  Tuesday, September 18, 2020.

Move on Jamie Brynoe Gittens?

Dortmund could also be in the market for another Manchester City talent, Jamie Brynoe who is a 16-year old player at the City U18 team and has been tipped to emulate Jadon Sancho. He could follow such a step knowing fully well that Dortmund could give him the right condition to thrive.

Another rumour involves Memphis Depay from Lyon, who could be a possible direct replacement for Sancho but he would not be as costly as Sancho, saving them a lot of money,
