“MTV Base is postponing the 2021 MTV Africa Music Awards. We will keep fans updated as we have more news.”

The award is supposed to be a virtual event due to complications arising from the coronavirus pandemic. It was also the first time Uganda was to host the event, which would have made it the fourth nation to do so. Other countries that have hosted are Nigeria, South Africa, and Kenya.
