The organizers of the 2021 MTV Africa Music Awards ceremony, scheduled for February 20, in Kampala, Uganda, have announced that the event has been indefinitely postponed.
The announcement was made on the verified Twitter account of MTV Base Africa with no reason for the postponement.

The award is supposed to be a virtual event due to complications arising from the coronavirus pandemic. It was also the first time Uganda was to host the event, which would have made it the fourth nation to do so. Other countries that have hosted are Nigeria, South Africa, and Kenya.
