Afolabi Imoukhuede, the erstwhile N-Power Cluster Lead of the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP), on Tuesday asked the official Twitter handle of the famed scheme to "provide necessary support" to inquiries, AllNews reports.
Checks by this newspaper reveals that the last update by the official Twitter account of the Job Creation and Empowerment Initiative of the Social Investment Programme of the Nigerian Government was on July 27, while their last engagement was over three months ago - on September 3.
N-Power is a post-tertiary job scheme - one of the largest in Africa.
At at time, it had around 500, 000 beneficiaries (now retrenched).
These beneficiaries were paid a monthly stipend of N30, 000 (approximately 79 US Dollars).
Supervision of the scheme used to be under the eyes of the Office of the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, until it was transferred to the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs in 2019.
Edo-born Imoukhuede told AllNews in an exclusive interview earlier in 2020 that he conceptualised the N-Power programme - which birthed in 2016 under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Nigerian authorities recently introduced the NEXIT portal for exited batch A and B beneficiaries to put it for Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) supported programmes.
However, AllNews observed that beneficiaries complain of not receiving verification email upon completion of registration on the NEXIT portal.
Meanwhile, N-Power beneficiaries are expected to proceed with their planned protest later today (Tuesday) following what they describe as "deceit" by Nigerian authorities.
