N-Power Trends In Nigeria Following Non-payment Of Stipends

N-Power Trends In Nigeria Following Non-payment Of Stipends

Beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s N-Power initiative are calling on the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to pay their June and July stipends, AllNews reports.

One week after the FG's announcement to the Nigerian public that five hundred and two thousand, five hundred and eighty (502,580) data of N-Power beneficiaries have successfully migrated to the GIFMIS platform, AllNews can confirm that these genuine beneficiaries have still not been paid their June and July stipends.

Batch A beneficiaries are entitled to June stipend because they exited the Federal Government programme on June 30.

Batch B beneficiaries are being owed two-month stipends (June and July), as their duration in the famed scheme officially ended on July 31st.

Both batches N30, 000 monthly stipend is still on the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq's neck.  By our calculation, 23 billion naira is being withheld by the Zamfara-born politician.

Many beneficiaries celebrated 2020 Sallah downcast.

And coupled with the fact that the exit package for these Nigerian youths which the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has consistently maintained "will be shared soon" is vague, the outgoing volunteers are hugely disappointed in Farouq and her handling of the N-Power project.

Currently, the beneficiaries are thoroughly displeased with the erstwhile national treasurer of the All Progressives Congress (APC). And they are not holding back their feelings on social media.
