The female singer experienced a health scare as the judges (comprising of Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie) told her how they felt about her performance.
Funke gave a rendition of Tell Him; a duet she performed with fellow contestant Ronda Felton on Monday, March 22. After the performance, the three judges met privately, and the cameras picked up their criticism of what they just saw.

Giving a piece of her mind, Katy said, "I think it's the end of the road for Funke." Luke noted that she had a good voice, and Perry replied that "she wasn't perfect."
Addressing the contestants, Lionel told them that their performance was a "train wreck". Speaking to Ronda, he said she "crashed and burned", and then turned to Funke. Before he could finish his first statement to her, she collapsed face-first on the stage.
Ronda, the judges, and medical professionals who were nearby rushed to her aid, with Luke saying that she had "busted her chin."

Fortunately, Funke ended up being alright and an onscreen message popped up updating viewers that she was treated for dehydration and released from the hospital.
Later, Lionel was seen telling Ronda that they had decided to send both singers to the next round of the competition.
